‘Shahid’ goes viral after Kareena Kapoor reacts to the mention. But hold on, there’s more.

At the mention of Shahid, Kareena Kapoor Khan was caught off guard. As soon as the name was mentioned, she couldn’t hide the expression on her face. But don’t jump to conclusions and believe that it was about her ex boyfriend, Shahid Kapoor. The movie Shahid, directed by Hansal Mehta, was discussed with her and Hansal Mehta.

Kareena graced the trailer launch of her upcoming film, The Buckingham Murders. Not only is she the lead actress but also one of the producers. This marks her first collaboration with Hansal Mehta. During the event, a journalist commended Hansal for his past work, specifically mentioning his National Award winning film Shahid. “We’ve seen your track record and how you made films like Shahid. Even in this murder mystery (Buckingham Murders), there’s a sensitive issue at hand – that’s why I mentioned Shahid. How difficult was it to handle both script and direction for these two?” the reporter inquired.

For the unversed, Shahid was released in 2010 and it starred Rajkummar Rao in the lead. It was based on the life of Shahid Azmi, a lawyer and human rights activist who was assassinated in 2010. At the 61st National Film Awards ceremony, Rajkummar won Best Actor Award and Hansal Mehta won Best Director Award for the film. Rajkummar played the titular role.

Kareena Kapoor Khan and several international actors star in The Buckingham Murders, which premiered at the MAMI Film Festival last year.
